Sharon loves her new Blue Collection

It is now official, I have completed my SWAP as it is not only sewing, but:

  •  taking photos of all your outfits in various combinations (165 photos),
  • selecting the ones you like, cropping  them to show the garment, as this SWAP is all about TNT Patterns and fit,
  • Finalising your photos to end up with 6 minimum and 12 maximum,
  • Adding detail to each photo of the garment type, fabric, pattern,
  • Finally emailing it all to the AnnR for it to be included on the overall SWAP page.

So last night, the email was sent and I have received confirmation that it has been received.

I did have an original idea of what I was going to do for this years SWAP and had written it down and you will see that I made a few changes along the way, so how did it all turn out?

Here are my 11 completed garments, more detailed photos have been sent to AnnR for the SWAP page.

MMM ’12 – Day 8

It is really starting to cool down, this morning it was 11c (51f) and even though it is forecast to get warmer 22c (71f), my office is in an old sandstone building, with no air conditioning, so it takes most of the working week to warm it up with heaters and then it is closed for two days so we end up going around in circles.

I have worked out for me to be comfortable for the first 3 days of the working week I need to be wearing trousers, so I need to stop talking about them and get them made.

Top: Kwik.Sew 3740 without the cowl and the neckline raised in a chartreuse/grey/ink navy knit fabric (blogged here)
Trousers: Vogue 9537 in a black medium weight wool made in 2008.
Accessory: Me-made necklace and earrings of Byzantine sections with pearls added in green tones (blogged here).
Tights: Black tights.
Shoes: Courtney C21 Black leather with patent toe.

Another working week

It’s the 7th day of MMM ’12 and back to work we go.

Top: BWOF 02-2009-108 Knit with bateau neckline (blogged here)
Trouser:  Vogue 7881 in navy wool crepe (blogged here)

Shoes:  Circa Joan & David Luxe

Before you think I had forgotten about these trousers when I purchased the navy wool yesterday, I hadn’t as I need heaps of trousers for winter and a 2nd navy pair (different style) will be very useful.

Look what the postman delivered

last week, my 5 Simplicity Patterns that I mentioned here

Yes, they were in a plastic bag, taped very well and it looks like they came via the internal mail who then put some postage on it and this is how it arrived.  At least they couldn’t get wet which was a good thing.

Here are the patterns that my sister and I chose:

2599 – Misses’ Top with trim variations.
2475 – Amazing Fit Skirt.
2154 – Misses’/Miss Petite Blouse, Skirt, Jacket and Knit Cardigan.
2284 – Misses’/Miss Petite Lined Jacket (for my sister).
1886 – Misses’ Top with trim variations (for my sister).

Thank you Tilly and the Buttons for the chance to win these patterns.

Did you know that Simplicity/New Look is offering a discount on their patterns to the Me Made May ’12 participants – they are certainly promoting themselves to sewing groups.

MMM ’12 – Day 6

Another beautiful Autumn day today and I met with my some of my sewing buddies at the Fabric-a-brac to check out what wonderful fabrics and goodies they had to sell.

We were too busy watching each other purchase fabric that I forgot to get a photo until I got home.

Top: Butterick 3344 in multi striped knit (blogged here)
Trouser:  Cargo pants using Simplicity 3640 (OOP) track suit pattern in blue stretch woven (blogged here) .
Accessory: Purchased gold band choker with ink navy disc and purchased earrings
Shoes: Betts camel flat shoes.

My purchase was a piece of navy wool for some trousers.

The remainder of the afternoon was spent taking photos of all my garments for SWAP 2012.  Now to choose 12 photos from the 165 I took, adding details and emailing them to the co-ordinator of the Group ready for the big reveal on 10 May (EST).

MMM Day 5

Ah, the first Saturday of the month and that means sewing with my buddies at The Remnant Warehouse at Alexandria (we are all members of the Australian Sewing Guild).  Seeing that Maria is also participating in MMM’12 I asked her if she wanted to do a joint picture which she was thrilled to do.

Today’s I managed to cut out and sew another version of this skirt in a maroon cord, buttons and hems to be done, so you will see it very shortly.

Don’t forget to pop over the Maria’s blog to see here MMM’12 creations.

MMM ’12 – Days 3 and 4

Due to a technical glitch last night, here is my outfit for Day 3.

Top: Vogue 8572 in lemon (blogged here)
Skirt: McCall’s 7244 in a multi flecked fabric with a large amount of polyester purchased from Kerryn’s Fabric World, fully lined using Sun Silky and made too many years ago to remember.
Cardigan:  Simplicity 2603 cardi in brown mercury jersey from Lincraft (blogged here)
Accessory: Made by a friend for me.
Hosiery/Nylons: Voodoo Celestial.
Shoes: Joan & David Callalily Pumps.

Day 4 was a photo challenge day and today we had to have a photo of food/eating/cooking which I found out just before I left for work. So tonight when I got home Hubby had done the fruit and veg shopping so I selected the vegetables for tonight’s stir fry before I got changed into my old track suit to do the actual cooking.

Top: BWOF 02-2009-108 made up in a coffee mercury jersey from Lincraft (blogged here)
Skirt: Vogue 7937 View C, made 2006, the same fabric as the trousers on MMM Day 1.
Accessory: Me-Made crocheted necklace
Hosiery/Nylons: Voodoo Celestial.
Shoes: Joan & David, Callalily Pumps.

MMM ’12 – Day 2

Another sunny day, but they are getting cooler, and my office is cold, so the tights are back in action.

Top:  Vogue 8572 in rust Polyester/Rayon blend (blogged here)
Skirt: Vogue 7937 in dark brown wool crepe (blogged here)
Cardigan: Purchased rust cashmere cardigan whilst in China in 2008.
Accessory: Me made spiral bead and netting stitch necklace (blogged here)
Tights: Chocolate brown.
Shoes: Diana Ferrari

I found it interesting this morning when I put the cardigan against the top, they match, even though they were purchased quite separately, different continents and in 2008 I didn’t even have the fabric for the top.  This is not the first time this has happened since I have started using my colour swatch and it still amazes me when it does.
